Kirin MYTH LEGEND IN JAPAN



Qilin (Mandarin: 麒麟; pinyin: qílín;
read: ch'ilin), or often called by the Japanese Kirin, is a mythical creature who appears in many East Asian cultures, and it is said that these creatures appeared simultaneously with the appearance of Sage. It says it's a good sign that carries Rui (Mandarin: 瑞; pinyin: Rui; translation: "prosperity"). Qilin often depicted covered by the fire all over his body. Qilin sometimes referred to as the "Chinese Unicorn" (Pegasus China) because of its resemblance to the Unicorn in the West.

The story of Qilin first discovered in the 5th century BC (Before Mashehi) in the book Zuo Zhuan. Qilin form made from the shadows of people on the basis of history and fiction. At that time, a lot of shadows on different Qilin, one of which is estimated Qilin shaped giraffe. Therefore, until now the Japanese call giraffe as "Kirin" (Kanji: 麒麟).

There are also saying that the White Tiger Qilin is the western gate guard that has the power of lightning. However, opinion is wrong because in China the White Tiger is named Pai Hu (Mandarin: 白虎; pinyin: Bai Hǔ).

Although looks creepy, Qilin just punish the bad guys. Qilin can walk on grass without mengelurkan sound and also in water. As a creature of good, Qilin not eat meat. It is said Qilin an affectionate creature, so when he walked, he would not even step on a living creature. It also said that Qilin only appear in areas with good and wise ruler or a peaceful home.

Qilin is a gentle creature, but he can become malignant if a man be a sinner. When Qilin angry, balls of fire going out of his mouth and he will show his anger is scary.
