A Kappa has indentation above his head and the grooves were filled with water from the original springs. If water is spilled, lost magical power. Kappa usually drink blood but it depends whether he is good or evil. Kappa love cucumbers and if there are families who want to be protected Kappa or avoid bad luck, they usually write their name on a cucumber and tossed in the pool Kappa. These creatures are known as polite and always keep their promises. The strange thing in the story of Kappa in Japanese folklore is the number of different versions of Kappa.
